I plan on using this space for an ad application in the future. But for now there are a few things I want to get into (those links on the left exist for a reason) before dealing with all that analytical stuff needed for targeting ads . . .

So these past few weeks have been kinda busy for me. There was a milestone though, the first person to register to here . . . was a bot. I don't know how it found this place, but I do fell a little honored. :P Aside from that, there's just been a lot of "new" work related stuff going on keeping me busy in a good way. I haven't had much "free" time lately, but I'm always doing something "behind the curtain" here.

So with what's on my plate, I did some research into API design and REST. Seems "simple" enough, planning things out is my specialty. I gotta stop planning and polish the apps I already have/started on. I'm pretty much set up for rest as it is. I just need to so a lil change on the apache part and things should be good to go . . . but first I gotta stick with my plan of making this place more public. Again it's making "pretty" layouts that's holding me up (getting paid for doing so would be a great catalyst). There will be paint in the playground - and I'm a picky person. While I do like this bare, "just what's needed" style, there's money in coming up with a good front end. What good is a site if the back end is flimsy? Remember the early days of healthcare.gov?

Finally got around to putting up an account recovery option. That'll definitely help out my "dummy" accounts.

Yep, it's been about a year since I put some effort into this little piece of internet that is mine (the real anniversary passed months ago). I have a nice lil design style down, got my own lil framework going . . . maybe I'll start working on the main vision I have for this site soon. Eh, maybe. The fight to not turn this into a blog is strong, but the thought of having to deal with the layout of the comments, post archiving (gotta do that anyway, grr), whether or not to have some displayed, monitoring them . . . hold up, well it's just me and my dummy accounts so that wouldn't be an issue. Heh, the code to support comments already exists. On a more serious note, I do need to get back to my Java roots (ugh, more gui goodness). That shouldn't be hard. The hardest part of programming is the planning imo, the rest is just syntax (except xlisp, it's been years since I touched it . . . it's special).

Yeah, it's been a while since I've updated anything. A lot of things have been going on and have now seemed to slow down. I'm not going anywhere. There were a few big 'framework' updates before the break, but now I'm at that 'how do I make this look pretty for the average person' wall again. Ugh, I don't like having to put my simple front end artist hat on . . . but for the right price I can be that person, heh.

without a dope app to test through. So yeah, I've just really been busy with work. Busy busy, like people asking where have you been busy. Time to light a fire under myself and get up and running again. I'll just need a day or two to get back up to speed.

So I've done another content update. The links now do stuff. Yep, short with the words since I'm typing on my phone laying down. Gotta rest up for work later.

I'm dealing with right now. There is enough stuff on my background issues checklist to open things up. When I get more downtime and get unlazy again, I'll clean up this page with a little ajax. Hmm, so now I'm gonna be needing actual users and dummy data (the sample data used while making stuff is no fun).

So I've been busy at work doing stuff for auditors. Network inventory is a pain. It's not complicated, but time consuming. Once this week finishes, I should have more time to work on things. I did finish making a dropbox applicaiton. Gotta get the logging and admin system finished before opening things up.

So it's a new year and I'm still working on the backend stuff. The register function has always been available, but now I've got the validation emails going out. Instead of focusing on what I've got on my plate already, I did start on another app. A dropbox is not that hard to make imo. It just involves good bookkeeping. Nobody saw that typo.

So I got a lot of the foundation set for how I have the files for each other interacting with each other. I wish I could show people exactly what I mean, well . . . I could but keeping the source to myself for now. Who needs to plan stuff out? I plan as I code ::flex::. Actually that hasn't been too bad because I'm good at planning for the possibility of added functionality in the future. I'm gonna get my ajax on eventually, but I want to get a decent amount of stuff up first. I need to start getting the administration php scripts done, but I really am not looking forward to doing the table joining (database wise, I have a system that works well having every app register itself). If I wasn't working on this in my spare time, I know I'd have a lot more done.

Another little exterior update has been made. Refresh the page a few times and see if you notice something. There's another front-end related back-end update I want to do, but it's going on 9:00 am, I really should get some sleep even though I don't feel tired. I also put a link on my default page to point here. I'll add the ability to comment eventually, but I want to set up the application administration system first. I could administrate through the database (it would be a pain since what you're seeing isn't coming from the database), but everything I make I do with the idea of the average person behind the wheel.

. . . and I'm still working on the site. I got quite a few important mini goals accomplished regarding user and application management, and I made parts of the site more uniform but nobody would notice that since I haven't shared this site with people yet. Heh, I've had an app up for months already.

So I did some front and a lot of back end work. I do have a while before I start focusing on content though. Ugh, why must I try to so things the right way?
